The Services That We Offer:
Food & You has been focusing on how important food is to your health and well being for over 30 years. “Eat well, be well” is our motto and we work to instill the importance of this in all services offered. It is the driver behind our work.
Food & You services individuals, small groups, and organizations. We provide leadership, manage projects and provide education that support more healthy food for all.
Managing projects from start to finish driving progress to timely completion. We sit down and listen to your needs and then outline a plan of work and timeline. Previous consulting experience includes working with athletes, individuals with specific nutritional needs, farm-to-table restaurants, and families.
Food & You focuses on grant opportunities that support food, nutrition and health. Managing the grant application process from start to completion while checking in as needed to ensure that your work and priorities are reflected. Grant experience includes Specialty Crop Block Grants, Rural Business and Enterprise Grants, AARP Foundation Grants, and USDA Local Food Promotion Program Grants.
Food Systems & Food Access
Food access along with all other sectors of the food system is the means that gets food to our plate. Our work experience has been in multiple areas of the food system. Previous start-up work includes member of founding Board of the Iowa Food Coop, Founder of Tallgrass Grocery Coop, first President of the Iowa Food Systems Council Board, co-initiator of Lutheran Services of Iowa Refugee Incubator Farm Project, and project lead for the Local Food Box program based in Des Moines.
